The walled garden ecosystem and arrogance of a proprietary interface has always turned me off of Apple gear Moode Audio has Airplay integration, I wasn't aware that it was not very common. I've tried stranger combos such as the pre outs of my Yamaha A-S2100 to a TU8600, which sounds better to my ears than the DAC to TU8600. I may purchase an R2R DAC at some point, but would have a very hard time disconnecting the RME-ADI2 and would seriously consider sending digital through it to an R2R just to keep the other features, I'd certainly A/B it if and when the time comes. I'm happy with my gear, have just enough variety to keep me content indefinitely. The connection and DSP is good, the metadata and music selection/discovery is stellar. It is, by far, the best way I have ever listened to digital music. I started a 3 month trial for $2 and I'm getting antsy. I took a look at Roon when it was $700 and just looked again and saw it was increasing to $840 on Jan 1. A little clunky, but decent, I seem to find more browsing Qobuz on Bubble than on Qobuz. I settled on Moode Audio and the Bubble UPnP app on Android. This kind of left me scrambling for a solution to use the Allo, I tried Volumio just as they moved to a monthly sub for Tidal or Qobuz and without a lifetime sub, I couldn't stand that I would, at some point, spend more for Volumio than Roon. My original intention was to use it with Roon, but after buying a stack of gear and absolutely loving my 3 month trial, I failed to pull the trigger on a at the time $500 lifetime subscription. I use an Allo DigiOne Signature coax streamer. Subreddit's theme is /r/Minimaluminiumalism.
